We are pleased to report that the Assembly unanimously passed one of the Academy’s priorities, the No Fault legislation (A.11116) to require No Fault insurance coverage of emergency services regardless of whether a patient was injured by driving while intoxicated.
The Senate had unanimously passed the bill on Friday, June 18th. The bill will now need to be approved by the Governor.
Medical Marijuana Update
Medical Marijuana did not pass. It is still possible but not likely. One possibility would be to have it pass as part of the budget bill. Another would be for the legislature to return after elections and vote on it then. We have been emphasizing the issue of safety and control since this is not FDA approved.
Sativex Availability
Sativex is now available in England and Canada. Maybe we should legalize that in New York State and have it sold in drug stores.
