“Drunk with Hope”, written by Tara Handron, will debut in Syracuse, NY in May. NYSAM board member Dr. Dorothy Lennon will star in the one-woman show. The play consists of monologues, stories of many women, illustrating the recovering alcoholics experience; life when they were drinking or using drugs and what caused the shift when they decided to stop and what life is like now.
Tara Handron is the Regional Vice President in the greater Washington DC area for Caron Treatment Centers and wrote this play for her Master’s thesis. This is the first time that “Drunk with Hope” will be performed by someone other than the author. Dr. Lennon states, “I am truly honored that Ms. Handron has allowed Rarely Done Productions in Syracuse this opportunity to present her work.”
The play has been described as “an evening of hilarious, heartbreaking and enlightening theater.”
It will run May 16, 17, 18, and 23 at the Jazz Central in Syracuse, New York.
