Call for Board Position Applications

NYSAM is accepting applications for the following board positions.

AT-LARGE DIRECTOR
– two positions open

EARLY CAREER PHYSICIAN
(within two years of graduation)

ASSOCIATE BOARD MEMBER
(NEW seat on the NYSAM BOD)
Eligible Professions: Licensed Registered Nurses (RN), Nurse Practitioners (NP), Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry (Psych‐CNS), Physician Assistants (PA), Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN), Certified Addictions Nurse Practitioner, Other Advanced Practice Nurses, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSWs), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Psychologists, Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselors, Doctoral Degrees including PhD, Psy.D, DVM, DDS and DMD, PHARM D, Doctor of Nursing Science.

Individuals must have spent at least 25% of their professional time over the past year involved in teaching, research, or clinical care for individuals who are at risk for or have an addiction. All applicants must be in good standing within their discipline.

TRAINEE BOARD MEMBER
(Medical Student, Resident or Fellow)
Two slots open for Board member (voting member) and alternative (non-voting member but would vote if voting member not present). Both are expected to attend Board meetings.

Board positions are elected every two years.  NYSAM members can serve up to 6 total years on the NYSAM Board, or 8 if the trajectory includes President Elect to President.

NYSAM also is considering applications for the Executive counsel.  Applicants should a have track record of volunteer work, committee involvement within NYSAM, and demonstration of ongoing active support of our chapter.  Selection to be put on the ballot for the Executive Counsel (President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer) is at the discretion of the NYSAM Nominations Committee.
