GNYHA is soliciting submissions on best practices for educating trainees—including medical students and residents training across specialties at teaching hospitals—on opioid use. As the opioid epidemic re-emerges as a public health crisis facing our country, the future physician workforce must be adequately prepared to recognize these patient populations, evaluate treatment options, and work within and outside their communities to identify root causes.
The attached Call for Submissions is open to medical education leaders who have created educational models designed to address the opioid epidemic from a training perspective. A selection of the submissions will be included in a compendium of best practices that will be distributed to the membership early next year.
Submissions must be received by January 3, 2022. Please share the attachment with other interested parties at your institution and with colleagues at affiliated medical schools. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
